Last night saw the inaugural Insurance Investment Exchange Awards shine a spotlight on the vital work that internal investment teams and asset managers undertake on behalf of the insurance industry to help successfully manage the trillions of pounds under their collective stewardship. Recognising their achievements is all the more important in today’s challenging macroeconomic and low yield environment, as they also cope with greater board level scrutiny and regulatory demands than ever before.
The Awards were about independent, third party endorsement of excellence and this was the first time such endorsement was available to the insurance investment community. A judging panel of leading experts from across the insurance sphere debated 11 key categories covering insurers, asset managers and key service providers.
“Given that this was only our first year, I am delighted we had such a strong field of candidates,” said Bob Swarup, co-founder of the Insurance investment Exchange. “The numerous strategies and solutions put forward to meet the many challenges of the current insurance world demonstrated a rich diversity of thought, and it is clear that innovation is alive and well.
“I especially thank all our judges for giving their valuable time and sharing their experience to pick some truly worthy winners.”
